Retro To Go now on Facebook
Retro_facebook

As we're a retro site, it's only right that we're fashionably late to the party. And so, months after everyone else, Retro To Go is now on Facebook.

It's early days, so expect much more to come, but if you're a Facebook member, come and see us via the link below. We'll be there - as we're online pretty much all of our waking hours. And don't forget, you can also keep up with us on Twitter too.

Kevin Cummins classic photography prints
Cummins

Kevin Cummins is the former chief photographer of the NME (when it was worth reading) and a man who, in his time, has managed to be in the right place at the right time when it came to music in the 70s and 80s. And his images he shot are now available to buy as limited edition photographic prints.

You can browse the available prints at the Paul Smith online store, with the likes of Paul Weller, Mick Jagger, David Bowie, Marc Bolan and the Sex Pistols featured, along with non-music folk like Terence Stamp, Quentin Crisp and Alberrt Finney.

But we love this Bernard Sumner print. It's a gelatin-silver photographic print, sized at 40.6 x 30cm and in an edition of 30, with the image itself capturing the New Order man in New York in 1983. Yours for £881.

Brionvega 1960s RR227 radio reissued
Brion

We're being spoiled a bit by Brionvega right now - not content with bringing back the classic RR226 audio system, we now have the re-introduction of the equally-classic Brionvega RR227 radio.

Originally produced in 1965 by the design team of Zanuso and Sapper, a radio that looks good whether you use it horizontally or vertically - indeed it's designed to be used both ways.

The new version does give a nod to the modern era with the addition of an SD card reader and USB connectivity, as well as a modern-day price tag. Although saying that, it's not overpriced for a design classic - yours for around £123.

Superstudio Quaderna 710 console table and bench
Superstudio

If you've visited the V&A's Cold War Modern exhibition, you might have seen a strange film by a radical Italian architecture/design collective - Superstudio. The group left plenty of bold statements and ideas behind in the 60s and 70s, but very actual design - with the exception of the Quaderna range for Zanotta.

And this Superstudio Quaderna 710 console table and bench is part of it. The idea was to create a 'neutral surface', free of influence from all that has come before, which you certainly get here. Both pieces feature a honey-comb core structure coated with white plastic laminate, that check design screenprinted onto that surface.

Hard to describe it as eye-catching, but as design with a story, this is hard to beat. Yours from £1,620.
